1. You haven’t found a job you love?
2. You haven’t found lasting fulfillment with friendships?
3. You haven’t felt successful with parenting?
4. You haven’t lived your dream relationship/marriage?
5. You haven’t met your personal or professional goals?
These are powerful questions.
I have asked everyone one of these “why” questions at some point in my life, sometimes multiple times. For me, thinking about them all at once made me realize the common denominator in each one was “ME”. Rather than continue to blame external factors and life circumstances for not having what I desired in life, I decided to look inward. I realized, I had never taken the time to find out who I really was aside from my titles (mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, employee, etc.). I needed to find me and not who people wanted me to be, not who I thought I should be and not what society deemed important. Instead, I had to find who God created me to be with my own special gifts, talents, strengths, and weaknesses. I realized, until I could find myself, I would never be able to answer those “why” questions.
This new awareness has helped me find meaningful joy in every area of my life, despite difficult circumstances at times I can live authentically by being who I am and doing what I am. I guess I’ve actually “Found Me. Found Joy”. If you need help to do the same, I’d love to support you.
